The Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association holds a meeting with the General Company for Carbon Economics
Engineer Ammar Rahim Abdullah Al-Saadi, Chairman of the Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association, attended a meeting at the General Company for Carbon Economics with Dr. Nazir Abboud, Director of the company affiliated with the Ministry of Environment, and his assistants. The meeting focused on accounting mechanisms for reducing industrial emissions and preparing steam. The Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association is working with an international company and under the supervision of the General Company for Carbon Economics. This is in preparation for entering into derivative contracts through projects established for the cement or cement products it produces, which are then sold to the global market as a global credit. This official reduction will be registered with the General Company for Carbon Economics, where each cement plant will have its own carbon credit.
Al-Saadi explained the products and projects that work on offsetting emissions, including emissions reductions. On behalf of the General Manager of the General Economic Company for Carbon States, the official shareholder to participate in the first international conference on carbon economics in Iraq, which will be held next May in Baghdad, to present the procedures of the association and member companies in the field of emission reduction. The procedures for registering reduction projects will be officially presented for each plant.
