At the invitation of Dr. Mohammad Reza Mohammadi, Chairman of the Iranian Cement Association, and Dr. Mostafa Azarkhel, General Manager of Ard Al-Amara Cement Company, a delegation from the Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association, headed by Engineer Ammar Rahim Abdullah Al-Saadi, Chairman of the Association, visited the Iranian capital, Tehran. The delegation met with the Chairman and members of the Iranian Cement Association, where they reviewed the production capacities of cement plants in Iraq, the number of plants and their geographical distribution, the types of cement produced, the Association's measures to reduce emissions and preserve the environment, supply chains, and the capacities that Iraqi plants will reach by 2030. The Chairman of the Association also emphasized the quality of clinker supplied from Iranian plants to Iraqi cement plants (mills), ensuring that it complies with specifications and ensures the production of cement that meets the Iraqi standard and meets the quality standards of cement produced by Iraqi plants. The issue of clinker listing on the Iranian stock exchange and its impact on the economic feasibility of plants in Iraq were also reviewed. During the association's visit to Iran, the delegation visited the Khuzestan Cement Company in Ahvaz, which supplies clinker to several Iraqi cement plants. The delegation emphasized the quality and reviewed the quality control procedures there. The delegation also visited the Ipec Cement Company in Tehran, which supplies both domestic and exported cement, and praised the quality of its production and quality control procedures. The delegation also visited IREFCO (Iran Refractory Company).In Isfahan province, specialized in the production of magnesian, aluminous and castable firebricks for cement plants, as well as IRANZOB Company, specialized in the production of steel balls for cement mills, liners and heat and corrosion resistant steel parts for cement plants with international specifications, in line with the association's management's keenness to diversify the sources of operational materials such as firebricks, steel balls and liners for factories, reduce costs and speed up processing. Discussions were held on signing a memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Iraqi and Iranian associations in the field of scientific research, product development and emission reduction, as the Iraqi Cement Manufacturers Association has taken serious steps in coordination with the Ministry of Environment and the General Company for Carbon Economics to prepare a carbon map for the cement sector and has prepared files to register emission reduction projects in preparation for the issuance of carbon bonds. The Chairman of the Association was accompanied on his visit by Mr. Muslim Rabie, member of the Administrative Board representing Ard Al-Amara Company, Dr. Maher Faiq, the Association's Technical Advisor, and Mr. Ali Abdul Razzaq, Sales Manager of Ard Al-Amara Company.
